SANDSTONE
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock formed from materials that are derived from the destruction of other rocks, usually quartz and feldspar. The destroyed or washed away materials are deposited in a different environment and with time they are soldered again. Depending on the size of the grains, sandstones are: fine-grained /0.1-1mm /, medium- grained /1-2.5mm / and large-grained /2.5-5mm /. According to the size of particles in the sandstone, it can be clay, chalky and clay-chalky limestone. Colors of the sandstone are yellow, brown, tan, red, gray, pink, white, black. Sandstone is a familiar building material since ancient times and it was used for the construction of temples, cathedrals, statues and decorative fountains.
